Read — The Shepherd’s Life
Read the opening chapter of James Rebanks’ The Shepherd’s Life, or if you can’t find it, look for a long-form article on regenerative farming vs. industrial agriculture. Search for “regenerative agriculture vs industrial farming” for good overviews.

Write — System vs. Business
Rebanks describes a way of life where the farmer, the land, and the animals are all part of one system. In your own words, what does he mean by that? What’s the difference between seeing a farm as a system vs. seeing it as a business?

Explore — Regenerative Agriculture
Look up “regenerative agriculture” and find one specific farm or practice that interests you. What are they doing differently and why?
