Read Wendell Berry’s essay “The Pleasures of Eating” (short, freely available online, and very direct about the relationship between consumers and farms). Search for “Wendell Berry Pleasures of Eating full text.”

Write — “Eating Is an Agricultural Act”
Berry says “eating is an agricultural act.” What does he mean? Connect this to what you’ve learned about nutrition from the Bryson chapter and about farming from this week’s reading. Is Berry right that most people have no idea where their food comes from? Does it matter?

Explore — The Farm as a Carbon System
